The Rowland Family
The majority of information I have on the early Rowland's is taken from the LDS Family History Library IGI.
I have done some verifying research, particularly on the "lean" generations (4-6). To that end I am confident of the generations shown, but have not collected any source records worth mentioning, nor have I developed other lines of descent. I have been surprised to learn that there has actually been very little reseach performed on the early Rowland family. Hopefully, more information will surface with exposure to this web site. Variants: Roland.
Descendants of Hugh Rowland
At present I maintain Hugh Rowland as the original immigrant ancestor, which I find to be concensus. Since I have not seen the records refered to concerning his immigration (with brother Edward?), I cannot say for certain that this is so.
The only immigration record I have found to date was of a Richard Rowland who arrived in 1635 at the age of 20. This would correspond nicely with the data that I have on Hugh

Great Aunt Elva (Weyer) Crum was a little girl when Ebenezer (her grandfather) died. She did recall that he was a crabby indiviudal. About her grandmother she wrote - "She liked to sew and knit, was an expert seamstress and could make clothes without a pattern. She was able to sew for a living as she was a widow for many years. She loved to go places, even as a very old lady. Her son-in-law Pierre Weyer used to say he didn't think it was right for an old lady to like to go places like she did. She walked with a limp due to an accident when she got thrown out of a wagon and a sewing machine fell on her foot and crushed it. She always wore long skirts almost to the floor. Not just one skirt she wore 3 or 4 skirts!"
